Our Mission
The office of Faculty Affairs is the central location for oversight
of the College of Medicine faculty-related policies and guidelines
governing appointments, promotions and tenure, and coordination
of activities that enhance the work-life and professional development
of faculty at the Tucson and Phoenix Campuses. Created in 2006,
the goals of the office are to:
- Promote faculty development and advancement through programs
that build and expand professional skills and knowledge
- Increase faculty diversity and instructional equity
- Support initiatives that expand mentoring opportunities
- Foster the development of the next generation of leaders
- Assist departments with all faculty actions, including hiring
and promotion
- Evaluate the effects of these programs on faculty retention,
productivity and morale
We recognize that the success of new faculty is one measure of the success of the entire College of Medicine. Thus, we are committed to providing the resources and tools that will allow new faculty members to achieve their goals in academic medicine. |
